Replanting a traditional herbaceous border in a rural garden, with a focus on summer colour. Some structural shrubs were retained and long-flowering Salvias and Verbenas provide a backbone of seasonal interest. A succession of Alliums, Geraniums, Verbascum, Echinacea, Sanguisorba, Hylotelephium, Asters and others take their turns to shine, and whilst the planting becomes established the gaps are filled generously with colourful Cosmos.
